6/12/15 – Post Boston Presentations

A change of pace! Instead of inviting a titan of the game industry to visit us this Thursday, instead we traveled to Boston! We went to go see a few people, then after that a couple members of the team attended the Boston Tech Jam 2015.

We started by taking the train en mass and walked over to the FableVision studio, where we got to meet the lead artist and programmer who manage the art and programming for every project  at FableVision. Both were very impressed by the amount of detail and work we’ve put into the game, and we even managed to get a compliment for our programmers (compliments for game programming are scarce because good programming means the game is running perfectly.)

After that, we traveled over towards South Station and past that to the Indie Game Collective, to meet some new designers and see Michael Carriere again. They were similarly impressed and two even got into a competition to get the highest number!

Our last stop before the Boston Tech Jam was at the Massachusetts Digital Games Institute headquarters to show our games to some of the more prominent members of the board of MassDigi, the company that is helping us develop  MegaloMalady with the facilities and technology we use.

Finally we presented at the Boston Tech Jam to show off the strides we’ve made and network with business people! Not everyone was interested in the game and the circumstances were less than ideal, but we still managed to confirm some important details that we plan on changing.

A long day, yes, but rewarding! Now, back to work.

I am the producer and lead designer for the game MegaloMalady, one of the 4 game development projects for MassDiGI Summer Internship Program 2015.
